Summer is here and the Resort is buzzing with lots of visitors and fun times.  This weekend we celebrate Canada Day and there are a wide variety of activities in resort, from the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra at Olympic Plaza to the ever popular ‘home grown’ Canada Day Parade.  Check out all the details here – Canada Day Celebrations

Not to take away from the celebrations, but . . . July is also Property Tax time and for those who own property in Whistler or Pemberton your Property Tax payment is due on Tuesday, July 3rd.  There are several payment options and you can find the information on the following links:  Resort Municipality of Whistler Property Taxes  or Village of Pemberton Property Taxes

Although May and June are typically slower months in our market, the sales volumes have slowed slightly more than expected over the past 2 months with 58 sales in May and 41 so far in June. May 2017 we had 96 sales and for the same period in June 2017 we had 73 sales.  These represent some significant drops in activity which we will continue to monitor.    Smart sellers are beginning to adjust their list and sell prices and with the drop in activity we are seeing more listing inventory which will be a welcome opportunity for buyers looking today.  Interest rates are expected to remain stable and long term rates will likely continue to remain low because of lower than expected bond yields.  The Canadian dollar is currently at $0.75 USD and speculation is that it will remain there or lower for a period of time.  This will continue to give any foreign guests and buyers great value in our resort for the coming days.

July and August always brings lots of activity in the resort and we are expecting plenty of guests enjoying what we have to offer in Whistler.

Happy Canada Day!  Let’s paint the town Red!!
